Summary: Inspects products manufactured or processed by Excel or its vendor base to ensure compliance with contract specifications by performing the following duties.

 

Essential Duties and Responsibilities: include the following. Other duties may be assigned.

 Understand and adhere to applicable written procedures and work instructions.

 Determines what product to inspect based on the list provided by team leader.

 Performs pre-inspection of job related documentation. Selects and sets measuring equipment.

 Inspects parts against dimensions and specifications listed on the drawings, work orders, and any referenced written specifications. Determines acceptability or  rejectability.

 Documents non-conformity reports. Documents inspection reports when applicable.

 Properly transfers products out of the inspection area.

 Uses computer to track time spent on jobs, to file NCARs, and for communication.

 Inspects product to determine compliance with order specifications and company's quality control system.

 

Supervisory Responsibilities:                                               

This job has no supervisory responsibilities.

Education and/or Experience:                                              

One year certificate from college or technical school; or three to six months related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.  Ability to read drawings.

 

Language Skills:                                            

Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals.  Ability to write routine reports and correspondence. 

 

Mathematical Skills:                                                  

Ability to work with mathematical concepts such as plane and solid geometry and trigonometry.  Ability to apply concepts such as fractions, percentages, ratios, and proportions to practical situations.

 

Reasoning Ability:                                                     

Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists. Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.

 

Computer Skills:                                            

To perform this job successfully, an individual should have knowledge of JD Edwards AS400 Inventory software.  Must be able to use the basic functions in the Windows operating system, and use the Xcalibur software for job tracking and NCAR entry.
